Swedish-Mexican singer-songwriter and guitarist Björn Cárdenas released his first album A Tale of Woe in 1998 before embarking on a journey that lasted several years to mainly different parts of the English speaking world. Living in Dublin and later moving to London, the Irish, Scottish and English folk music became a major influence in his formative period.
Interested from an early stage in poetry, literature and songwriting Björn studied in Dublin as well as Oxford and holds a degree in English from the University of Uppsala.
Although Björn has performed in venues in the US, Mexico and England – the Scandinavian scene has been the basis of his artistic activity. After spending nearly a decade performing in music bars, Irish pubs, music festivals and holding workshops in acoustic guitar-playing and Celtic music Björn, due to circumstances, had to pause his career in the music business.
After 10 years of relative silence Björn is back. With the brand new album – A Portrait of an Artist as a Young man – Björn hopes to be able to continue where he left off…
